Adjust residential and commercial property and casualty daily claims for our clients by conducting scene of loss investigations, preparing and developing documentation, and submitting electronic reports with appropriate recommendations. Individuals without prior claim estimating experience will not be considered.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Primary Responsibilities

    • Investigate and evaluate property and casualty insurance daily claims.
    • Review and apply client specific claim guidelines, insurance policies, and endorsements.
    • Inspect property for physical damage.
    • Coordinate and partner with vendors such as construction contractors, repairs service companies, and various vendors needed to support the claim (as directed by client guidelines)
    • Execute thorough claim investigations; scene inspections, recorded statements, secure relative documentation/information.
    • Produce a professional adjusting report, providing your findings and recommendation for claim settlement within time guidelines.
    • Respond timely to clients, policyholders, and coworkers.
    • Maintain professional and technical insurance industry knowledge through continuing education.
    • Flexibility in claim scheduling outside of regular business hours.
    • Extended travel, up to 80% as dictated by business needs. 
    • Required to deploy for CAT assignments as volume dictates.
    • Perform other duties as required.
Additional Responsibilities
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Xactimate and Xactanalysis.
    • Two years’ minimum previous field property adjusting experience with all loss types
    • Demonstrated understanding and experience in commercial policies
    • Demonstrated knowledge of building materials and construction principles
    • Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service
    • Effective time management skills. Working from home, claim assignments will be sent and received electronically. You will be responsible for managing your claim load and diary.
    • Basic Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer).
    • Business writing skills. You must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers, management, clients, insureds, contractors and various other parties involved in the insurance claim process.
    • Valid Driver’s License, a good driving record and a clean and presentable vehicle for business use. We recommend vehicles with high mpg ratings.
    • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
    • Must be willing to obtain additional licensing in surrounding states within 90 days of an offer.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Five (5) + years’ previous field adjusting experience.
  • Experience with Symbility Claims. Several clients are using the Symbility platform.
  • Experience with Casualty Claims. You will handle Casualty / Liability insurance claims as well as property claims. Prior experience with recorded statements, scene diagrams, etc. is a plus.
  • Various insurance industry certifications. This position does not require specific certifications beyond any state required insurance adjusting licensing. However, most of Syndicate’s field staff hold additional industry-specific certifications.
  • Familiarity with FileTrac Claim Management system is helpful.

Desk Claim Examiner (File Reviewer)

We are looking for a highly experienced Claim Examiner to join our growing team! This is a corporate, work at home position reporting into our Training team. Claim Examiners review estimates according to both Charles Taylor Adjusting and client policies and procedures. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, the ability to coordinate and maintain a productive work schedule, a solid background in adjusting and/or desk reviews, and the ability to work within very tight timelines when needed.

This position will be instrumental in guiding the field staff to produce reports that conform to our clients file content requirements. The ability to work well with various stakeholders, and to provide clear and concise direction will be essential. Working from home, you will perform final quality audits on adjuster property and casualty reporting prior to client submission.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Review reports, estimates, photographs and sketches to ensure compliance with standard claims practices, technical accuracy, Syndicate quality standards, and client guidelines and special requests.
  • Provide guidance to field adjusters regarding individual files, request revisions to bring file documentation into compliance, edit reports where appropriate and refer complex file issues to management personnel.
  • Approve final submissions to our client and provide guidance to our billing department regarding final invoicing.
  • Document all review activity in Xactanalysis and our internal Claims Management Software.
  • Collaborate files, when appropriate, using Xactimate estimating software.
  • Working with our Supervisory and Management staff, provide guidance and mentoring for contract reviewers when necessary.
Qualifications
  • 5-10 years’ experience as a property adjuster or 2-4 years’ experience as a property damage file reviewer or supervisor.
  • Two years’ minimum experience with Xactimate estimating software.
  • Must be an expert in damage identification.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Must have the ability to coordinate work with field staff, office staff and clients as well as the ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Experience working with varied client claim standards and practices.
  • Ability to provide concise and clear written and verbal directions and guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high volume workloads while prioritizing conflicting demands is essential.
  • The ability to connect and communicate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to work an irregular schedule, including nights and weekends as needed
